Laser Therapy

Discover the Benefits of Laser Therapy!

What Is Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate the body’s natural ability to manage pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration.

What Kind of Laser Is Used?

The treatment involves the use of an FDA-cleared, class IV K-Laser. The laser combines multiple wavelengths for broad-based biostimulation.

Is this Considered Cold Laser Therapy?

The Class IV K-Laser is much different from Cold Laser Therapy in the power and depth of the treatment. Cold Laser Therapy usually involves a Class III Laser with a treatment depth of only 0.5 centimeters and around 500 mW of power. Whereas the Class IV K-Laser is able to penetrate at a depth of 4 centimeters and has up to 12,000 mW of power. The increase in power and depth provides effective relief in muscles, joints, nerves, and spinal disc disorders.

How Does It Work?

The K-Laser actually targets damaged tissue and is able to accelerate the healing process. Laser energy interacts with the tissues at a cellular level, increasing metabolic activity within the cells. This stimulates your natural regenerative properties as well as increase circulation. The K-Laser draws water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area, creating an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness, and pain. Treatment times vary from 2 minutes to 6 minutes per treatment depending on your condition.

What Results Can I Expect?

Many of our patients report pain relief in as little as one visit. More chronic conditions such as disc degeneration or arthritis may require more treatments. There are no activity restrictions after treatment, so patients are able to resume their normal daily activities.

Is the Treatment Considered Painful?

No! The laser treatment is not considered painful or uncomfortable. Although mild heat is produced from the light, most patients considered the heat to be therapeutic. Our staff is highly trained on the protocols used in laser therapy to ensure maximum comfort during your treatment.

K-Laser Therapy Can Help Both Acute and Chronic Conditions!

At Synergy Medical, we treat a number of different conditions. Based off of the success we have seen with our laser treatments, we often incorporate laser therapy into our care plans. Whether your condition is acute (ex: muscle strain, ligament sprain, soft tissue injuries, contusions) or chronic (ex: tendonitis, bursitis, osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis), we believe that laser therapy is an excellent addition to achieve maximum pain relief.
